
In the afternoon, 18,340 people from all walks of life visited Istana Nurul Iman for the audience and junjung ziarah with His Majesty Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri. His Majesty consented to receive the junjung ziarah from male visitors.
Also in attendance were His Majesty's sons and brothers, His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, The Crown Prince; His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah; His Royal Highness Prince Haji Sufri Bolkiah; His Royal Highness Prince Haji Jefri Bolkiah; His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Malik; His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Mateen; and His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Wakeel as well as other members of the Royal Family.
The Junjung Ziarah with His Majesty Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam is among the symbols of the strong bond between the Monarchy and the people. A unique encounter that does not exist elsewhere, it is a long time tradition that stays unique and special until today. The Junjung Ziarah also manifests His Majesty's love and concern for the country's people and friendliness towards His Majesty's guests from friendly countries. His Majesty's cordiality touches the people, strengthens their loyalty and brings them closer to the Monarch.
Meanwhile at another part of Istana Nurul Iman, Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha consented to receive the women visitors. With Her Majesty were Her Majesty's sister and daughters, Her Royal Highnesss Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Zariah binti Al-Marhum Pengiran Pemancha Pengiran Anak Haji Mohamed Alam; Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Bini Hajah Faizah; Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Norhayati; Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Rashidah Saadatul Bolkiah; Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Majeedah Nuurul Bolkiah; Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Hafizah Sururul Bolkiah; Her Royal Highness Princess 'Azemah Ni'matul Bolkiah; Her Royal Highness Princess Ameerah Wardatul Bolkiah; and Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Amal Umi Kalthum Al-Islam.
Visiting Istana Nurul Iman for the Hari Raya audience and Junjung Ziarah with His Majesty and Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri is a long time tradition that enhances the strong bond of love and affection between the Monarch and the people.
The joy and excitement of celebrating Hari Raya at Istana Nurul Iman was not only felt and enjoyed by the country's people but also by foreign visitors, who for three days in a row were special guests of Their Majesties and the Royal Household.
