21.07.15 3rd Day the Istana Opened For Hari Raya Audience and Greetings




Istana Nurul Iman's Hari Raya Aidil Fitri 'open palace' ended today with a total of 109,642 visitors recorded in three days. The well-wishers were the country's citizens and other residents, visitors from neighbouring states and foreign tourists. In the 3-days the Istana was open, the visitors were entertained as the guests of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Muizzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha binti Al-Marhum Pengiran Pemancha Pengiran Anak Haji Mohamed Alam and the Royal Household.

The first day it was opened, Istana Nurul Iman recorded 39,943 visitors. There were 37,837 visitors on the second day, and 31,862 today, the 3rd and last day Istana Nurul Iman was open in conjunction with Hari Raya Aidil Fitri. Yesterday morning 13,522 visitors from all walks of life were guests at the Istana.

His Majesty Sultan and Yang Dipertuan of Brunei Darussalam consented to receive the male visitors.  With His Majesty were His Majesty's sons and brothers His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, The Crown Prince, His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah, His Royal Highness Prince Haji Sufri Bolkiah, His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Malik, His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Mateen and His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Wakeel as well as other members of the Royal Family.

The well-wishers in the morning were from Ministries, Government Departments, private firms, men and women converts, women's associations, non-government organisations, other members of the public, expatriates and tourists.  Visitors, regardless of age or status grabbed the golden opportunity for the audience and to convey festive greetings to His Majesty.

At another section of the Istana, Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha consented to receive the women visitors.  With Her Majesty were Her Majesty's sister and daughters, Her Royal Highness Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Zariah binti Al-Marhum Pengiran Pemancha Pengiran Anak Haji Mohamed Alam, Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Bini Hajah Faizah binti Dato Haji Nasir, Her Royaal Highness Princess Hajah Rashidah Sa'adatul Bolkiah, Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Muta-Wakkilah Hayatul Bolkiah, Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Majeedah Nuurul Bolkiah, Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Hafizah Sururul Bolkiah, Her Royal Highness Princess Ameerah Wardatul Bolkiah and Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Amal Umi Kalthum Al-Islam.

Visiting Istana Nurul Iman for the audience with His Majesty and Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri during Hari Raya Aidil Fitri is a tradition that continues to enhance relations between the Monarch and the people.

The opportunity of a relaxed and cordial meeting with His Majesty and the Royal Household is always cherished by the people.  It is an opportunity to be with their loving and caring Monarch who is always concerned with their well-being, prosperity and security.
